Personal Branding Photography for Grant Park Realtor Katie O’Brien
I recently had the pleasure of welcoming Katie O’Brien into my natural light studio in Manteno, Illinois, for a personal branding photography session.
Katie is a local realtor who is preparing to open her own brokerage in Grant Park, Illinois. Since Grant Park is right next door to Manteno, it was especially exciting to help another local business owner bring her new brand to life.
Planning Katie’s Brand Photography Session
A successful brand session begins long before the client steps in front of the camera. Katie and I met over Zoom before her session to talk about her business, brand colors, personality, and how she plans to use her new images.
Together, we planned:
Outfits that complemented her brand colors
Props that helped tell the story of her business
The different types of images she would need
A detailed shot list to keep the session organized
A variety of images for her website, social media, and marketing materials
Helping clients plan their wardrobe and props is one of my favorite parts of the branding process. The goal is to make sure everything feels intentional and consistent while still looking natural and authentic to the person behind the business.
Combining Real Estate and Creativity
Katie is a realtor, but she also has a background as an artist. Her new Grant Park office will reflect both sides of her personality and business. In addition to serving her real estate clients, she plans to host paint nights in the space.
That creative element gave us so much inspiration for her session. We incorporated artistic touches and props alongside more traditional real estate branding images. This allowed us to create a gallery that feels professional, approachable, colorful, and uniquely Katie.
So Much Variety in Just 90 Minutes
In approximately an hour and a half, we captured a wide variety of images in my Manteno natural light studio. Because we had planned everything ahead of time, we were able to move efficiently through different outfits, props, poses, and setups.
We captured professional headshots, personality-filled portraits, creative images, and plenty of marketing content that Katie can use as she introduces her new brokerage to the Grant Park community.
Most importantly, we had so much fun creating them!
Katie’s session is a wonderful example of why personal branding photography is about more than getting a new headshot. It is an opportunity to visually communicate who you are, what makes your business different, and how you want your clients to feel when they work with you.
